From September 30 to October 6, 2024, the Finance EMBA Zhejiang Alumni Association went to Malaysia to carry out its first overseas visit. During the event, the delegation met with a number of Belt and Road Finance EMBA (BRI EMBA) alumni including Malaysian Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Tengku Zafrul, Shangri-La Group Director Kwok Meng Xiong, and Sunsuria Berhad Founder and Executive Chairman Ter Leong Yap.
Nearly 30 financial EMBA alumni, including Hua Yong, Vice President of the Finance EMBA Zhejiang Alumni Association and Chairman of Hangzhou Shunwang Technology Co., Ltd., Zhang Zhifeng, Secretary General and Chairman of Zhejiang Yuandao Technology Co., Ltd., Zhuge Bin, Deputy Secretary-General and Founding Partner of Zhejiang Houda Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd., as well as Fang Yuyou, president of GSFD Zhejiang Alumni Association and co-founder of Proya Cosmetics Co., Ltd., and other Tsinghua PBCSF Finance EMBA alumni attended the event.
On September 30, 2024, Tengku Zafrul, an alumnus of Cohort I of the Belt and Road Finance Executive MBA (BRI EMBA) and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia, met with the delegation of Zhejiang Finance Alumni Association at the MITI Tower in Kuala Lumpur.
Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz served in CIMB Group from 2014 to 2020, where he was Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Group and CIMB Bank. In 2017, he enrolled in the "Belt and Road Finance EMBA" program of PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University; In March 2020, he was appointed Minister of Finance of Malaysia; In August 2024, he was appointed Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry.

On October 2, 2024, Kuok Mengxiong (MX), an alumnus of the inaugural class of the Belt and Road Finance Executive MBA (BRI EMBA) and Director of Shangri-La Group, met with the alumni delegation at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Shangri-La Group was founded by Mr. Robert Kuok Hock Nien, and MX is a third-generation member of the Kwok family.

On October 2, 2024, Ter Leong Yap, an alumnus of Corhort III of the Belt and Road Finance EMBA (BRI EMBA) and the founder and Executive Chairman of Malaysia Sunsuria Berhad, met with the alumni delegation.
Founded in 1989, Sunsuria Berhad is a diversified public company with businesses covering engineering and construction, medical and health, education and other related business fields. The company has a strong reputation in Malaysia and extensive experience in international project development.

On October 2, 2024, Malaysia's Selangor State Trade and Investment Councilor Huang Sihan met with the alumni delegation. Selangor's economy is dominated by services, manufacturing and construction, and is home to Malaysia's busiest port, Port Klang. The state is also an important base for Malaysia's semiconductor industry.
