On June 20, 2024, two alumni enterprises of Tsinghua PBCSF’s "BRI EMBA" program, Shanghai Junhe Group and Malaysia’s Sunsuria Berhad, signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, opening a new chapter of friendly cooperation and win-win development between the two sides, and helping to build a community with a shared future between China and Malaysia.

According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the operation of science and technology innovation industrial parks and industrial investment, rely on their respective resource advantages, jointly build a cross-border industrial investment chain, and create an industrial carrier of "two countries and two parks" between China and Malaysia. On the one hand, the cooperation will encourage Chinese enterprises to use Malaysia as a bridgehead to go to Southeast Asia and the international market; On the other hand, it will attract high-quality enterprises from Malaysia and Southeast Asia to enter the Chinese market, provide high-quality industrial service systems and platform carriers for the development and growth of enterprises, promote industry transformation and upgrading, and create more investment and employment opportunities.

The signing coincides with Premier Li Qiang's visit to Malaysia, and China and Malaysia are taking the opportunity of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations to accelerate the construction of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, solidly promote the construction of major projects such as the East Coast Railway and the "Two Countries and Two Parks", expand the scale of trade and investment, expand cooperation in logistics, new energy, artificial intelligence, digital economy, railway equipment and other fields, strengthen poverty reduction cooperation, and better achieve win-win cooperation. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement is highly in line with the strategic plan of the Chinese and Malaysian governments to continue to deepen cooperation in various fields. The two alumni companies will work together to promote fruitful cooperation projects and contribute to the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Malaysia.

The BRI EMBA Program

The BRI EMBA program is the first "Belt and Road" theme-related degree program initiated by Tsinghua PBC School of Finance, which integrates the century-old heritage of Tsinghua University and the professional authority of the Graduate School of People's Bank of China. Relying on the foundation of Tsinghua PBCSF’s educational experience in Finance EMBA Program for many years and the accretion of more than 1,000 alumni, the BRI EMBA Program creates a learning and communication platform for entrepreneurs from China and countries along the "Belt and Road", and deepens the overall understanding of the Asian economy and the local conditions of each country. It also aims to promote people-to-people bonds, foster cross-border cooperation, and jointly explore new opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Since its inception in 2017, the program has attracted more than 220 industry leaders from 26 countries and regions, including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, United States, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and South Africa. Some students from Southeast Asian countries have received honorary titles such as Tan Sri, Datuk Sri, Dato and Tunku. Nearly 40% graduated from world-renowned universities such as MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Oxford, and Cambridge.
