The Third Course Model of the B&R EMBA Program for Southeast Asia Carried out in Beijing

From September 5 to 10, 2017, the 3rd course module of Tsinghua PBCSF B&R EMBA Program for Southeast Asia was carried out in Beijing, China. From September 5th to 6th, Southeast Asia and China entrepreneurs visited headquarters of China Life Insurance (Group) Company and other representative financial institutions, Beijing Financial Assets Exchange and "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration" representative enterprise China Fortune Land Development Co., Ltd. (CFLD). And they exchanged ideas with Yang Mingsheng, Chairman of China Life Insurance (Group) Company, and Huo Xuewen, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of and Head of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Financial Work and other Chinese financial practitioners.

At the headquarters of China Life Insurance (Group) Company, the students of EMBA Program for Southeast Asia had discussions and exchanges with Chairman of China Life Insurance (Group) Company Yang Mingsheng, CIO of China Life Insurance (Group) Company and CEO of China Life Asset Management Company Limited Wang Junhui, CEO of China Life Investment Holding Company Ltd. Zhang Fengming, Vice President of China Life Insurance Company Ltd. Zhao Lijun, Vice President of China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Company Limited Zhang Haifeng, Vice President of China Life Investment Holding Company Ltd. Liu Hui, Investment Director of China Life Pension Company Limited Shao Jiaming and other management members of the Group and its branches. Wang Jingwei, Assistant to Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF and Director of Higher Education and EMBA Center, and Li Yuanzhen, Deputy Director of Executive Education and EMBA Center attended the exchange activity.

Yang Mingsheng introduced China Life's development, overseas investment, and strategic layout under the "Belt and Road" initiative. After the proposal of the "Belt and Road" initiative, with risk protection and financial support as the starting point, China Life supports and serves "connection of facilities, unimpeded trade, accommodation of funds, and people communication", and proactively devotes to the "Belt and Road" implementation.

Around the "Belt and Road" implementation and overseas investment, the students of EMBA Program for Southeast Asia had in-depth discussion and collision with Yang and China Life executives on issues of investment intents, cooperation forms, etc.

At Beijing Financial Assets Exchange, Huo Xuewen, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of and Head of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Financial Work, had deep communication and discussion with the students over topics of the development of Beijing's financial industry and the "Belt and Road" initiative, etc. Wang Naixiang, student of the EMBA Program for Southeast Asia, Chairman of Beijing Financial Assets Exchange, Wang Jingwei, Assistant to Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF and Director of Higher Education and EMBA Center, and Li Yuanzhen, Deputy Director of Executive Education and EMBA Center attended the exchange activities.

Huo introduced the history, crucial position of the capital city Beijing in the financial industry development and the prospect of cooperation with the "Belt and Road" initiative. He noted, Beijing has gathered China's three policy banks, four state-owned commercial banks, three insurance companies, numerous joint-stock banks, securities companies, fund companies and other large financial institutions, and is the gathering place of Asian Development Bank, the Silk Road Fund, Asian Financial Cooperation Association and other international financial organizations, as well as Central Huijin Investment Ltd., China Investment Corporation, China Jianyin Investment Limited, CITIC Group and other large financial holding groups, and is the headquarters in China of the world's top foreign-funded financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, UBS, JP Morgan. From the perspectives of financial aggregation, the pivotal function in financial decision-making, the proportion of added value of the financial sector, Beijing has reached the development level of international financial centers such as London and New York, becoming China's national financial management center integrating decision-making regulation, asset management, payment and settlement, information exchange, standards formulation.

At the headquarters of China Fortune Land Development Co., Ltd., CEO Wu Zhongbing, Vice President Liang Wentao and other executives received the teachers and students of EMBA program for Southeast Asia, and introduced the business development, PPP mode of industrial city, and the international business directions of China Fortune Land Development Co., Ltd.

At China Development Bank (CDB) - one of China's three policy banks, the students learned about CDB's history, policies and financial support for the "Belt and Road" initiative. In addition, they had in-depth exchanges over the quantitative criteria, guarantee forms, financing channels, payment procedures of CDB loans.
