Wisteria graces the season, autumn shines upon Tsinghua.
At PBCSF, scholarship lights the path to new heights.
From independent innovation to sharing with the world,
From rooted locally to renowned globally,
With passion in our hearts, the future is ours to shape.
On September 3–4, Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance (PBCSF) welcomed the incoming Finance EMBA Class of 2025 (20th cohort) and the "Belt and Road Initiative" EMBA Class of 2025 (7th cohort). Global business leaders arrived on campus with great anticipation for new knowledge in finance and management. Registration was completed smoothly, and even in their first exchanges students already felt the University’s rigor and vibrant academic spirit, marking the beginning of their immersive “Tsinghua first experience.”
On the morning of September 4, the Finance EMBA and BRI EMBA Class of 2025 Launch Ceremony was formally held. The event was attended by Dean Jiao Jie, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean Wang Zhengwei, Center for Finance EMBA Director Li Yuanzhen, Assistant Directors Jiang Jinglin and Zhou Wenjia, and was presided over by the Center's Executive Deputy Director Qi Zhi—officially opening the students’ academic journey.
That afternoon, the new cohort entered the grand Tsinghua University Auditorium for the School-wide Opening Ceremony. Representing the incoming class, Soegianto Nagaria (Liang Zongyuan) of the new BRI EMBA cohort delivered remarks on behalf of his peers. In the solemn atmosphere, students listened, reflected, and further deepened their sense of belonging and mission as “Tsinghua people.”
On the evening of September 3, all new students gathered at the North Sports Gymnasium for their “first Tsinghua sports class.” Touring the facilities and learning about its diverse offerings, they experienced firsthand the University’s enduring spirit of “No Tsinghua without sports” and immersed themselves in its athletic traditions.

Dean Jiao Jie warmly welcomed the incoming class and introduced the School. Established in 1981 as the Graduate School of the People’s Bank of China and incorporated into Tsinghua University in 2012, PBCSF has carried forward its mission: to cultivate leaders in finance, advance financial practice, contribute to national rejuvenation, and promote global harmony. Over the decades, it has nurtured generations of leaders, earning the reputation as the “West Point of Finance.”

The School has built a world-class faculty that blends academic rigor with practical insight. It emphasizes cutting-edge research and think tank platforms that produce influential financial policy studies. Through a global network linking more than 40 universities and 50 international institutions—and anchored by the Tsinghua PBCSF Global Finance Forum—the School continues to expand its international influence.
PBCSF now offers a full talent development system spanning doctoral, master’s, and Finance EMBA programs, designed to cultivate senior leaders with global vision. Dean Jiao emphasized that the School is advancing toward being “more professional, more technological, more international, more humanistic, and most distinctly Tsinghua.” He expressed his hope that students would leave with not only knowledge and friendship, but also growth and success uniquely their own.
Associate Dean Wang Zhengwei extended congratulations and encouragement to the enthusiastic new class. To strengthen academic integrity and campus discipline, he introduced Tsinghua’s standards of academic conduct, ethics, and regulations with clarity and humor, drawing on case examples to underscore the importance of rigor, honesty, and respect for rules. He reminded students:
“Remember the Tsinghua motto. Hold yourselves to the highest standards—be rigorous in scholarship, honest in character. Shoulder the mission of your era, and strive first to be qualified ‘Tsinghua people,’ then to become outstanding ones.”

Alumna Li Xueying (Finance EMBA Class of 2022), Chairperson & CEO of TopSec Technology Group, shared her perspectives on AI and cybersecurity. She traced global and Chinese AI development, explained policy trends in “AI+,” and analyzed opportunities in generative AI, cloud computing, and human–machine collaboration. Drawing on TopSec’s 25 years of innovation, she highlighted advances in “AI + Security,” such as AI-driven firewalls and large models, and described the company’s intelligent cloud computing ecosystem. Closing her talk, she encouraged students:
“Though the road may be long, it will be reached if you walk it; though the task may be hard, it will be accomplished if you commit to it.”

Director Li Yuanzhen introduced the Finance EMBA program and the distinctive strengths of the Class of 2025. Since its founding in 2012, the program has enrolled more than 3,400 industry leaders across finance, traditional industries, and the new economy. Over 80 student-led enterprises went public during their studies. The program’s curriculum rests on the pillars of Finance + Industry + Technology + Global, while its alumni network hosts more than 300 events annually through a multidimensional structure of local chapters, international chapters, and interest groups.
The Class of 2025 stands out: students hail from 9 countries and regions; 100% are senior executives; nearly 63% represent enterprises aligned with “new productive forces”; 67% are from national-level high-tech firms, provincial-level specialized enterprises, unicorns, or IPO-track companies; and 36% are already listed or preparing to list. Together, they demonstrate outstanding influence and potential.

At the conclusion of the Launch Ceremony, faculty members and student representatives pressed their handprints together on stage, symbolically opening a two-year journey of learning and challenge. The ceremony closed with the Tsinghua University anthem. Its solemn melody, carrying the spirit of “self-discipline and social commitment,” deeply resonated with all present and marked a fitting close to the day.
This year’s orientation also innovatively featured the “First Tsinghua Sports Class,” held at the modern North Sports Gymnasium, which offers a full array of facilities from ice sports to fencing, gymnastics, basketball, tennis, squash, and more.
Drawing on its close connection to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Tsinghua introduced the new students to its ice sports heritage. During a curling workshop, the students threw themselves into learning the techniques, practicing repeatedly to overcome their initial unfamiliarity, and building team coordination. In the heat of competition, they explored strategic thinking and embodied the values of teamwork and perseverance.
